RE: FROSTBITE!

I gotta' thank Robin and Mike for my livelihood and my ability to still play guitar.

Back at that time, I could tap out a beat on a table with my fingers.... and they sounded like drumsticks.

I had just arrived home from my job, loading transport trucks all day in twenty below weather.

My fingers felt wooden, man!

I tried to turn on a touch lamp.... and ..
NOTHIN'!!

I went to work the next day, and the following day too....

No heat, no circulation...no sense, no feelin....in my fingertips!!!
Talk about cool.


We laughed about it!!!

Apparently,

I HAD SERIOUS FROSTBITE!!!

And, I didn't know it!!!

My first reaction,....was to keep my fingers in ICE!!
(and drink Labatt Ice.... :-)

It was nice.......and ..... soothing.....

TO STOP THE BURNING!!!

GLLLGGGGHH.....

When Robin, the most compassionate (and knowledgable) neighbour on the block, heard about my situation,

SHE WASN'T LAUGHIN'!

She MADE me go to the hospital, PRONTO!

She said......"If your fingertips are BLACK, you're in BIG TROUBLE!!"

ROBIN STOPPED ME FROM LOSING SIX FINGERS!!!

By, advising me, not to go to work, the next day, AGAIN....
(and it was predicted that the COLD SNAP was about to peak!!!)

BRRRRrrrrrr................

So..................

Mike, (a 57' Chevy-Builder-From- Scratch, who get's off on 57' Chevy's and Screamin' Guitars) ..... gave me a ride, to the RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGEON'S OFFICE, the following day...........

EWWWWW......


When we saw the sign, Mike said, " Woah......This don't look good..."

And I said, "What part of 'Reconstructive, don't you like?"

And Mike replys, "Um...The PAIN....?"

I said, "NOBODY'S CUTTIN' NUTTIN' OFF ME!"

So.................

Into the building I go.....

Doc says..........................

"I could've amputated these 6"

(not all the same hand).

"But, 4 on the left. 2 on the right."

"Amuptate ....and put 'FLAPS' , on!!!"

THE TIPS???

FLAPS???

I'M A GUITAR PLAYER!!!!
